DEMING \u2013<\/strong> The Deming Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, in the 400 block of South Myrtle Street.<\/p>\n

Deming Police Chief Sergio Lara confirmed that the homicide is separate from the hit-and-run incident also being investigated by the department.<\/p>\n

Lara said the homicide case remains an open and active investigation, and the department is not releasing additional details at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.<\/p>\n

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the homicide to contact the Deming Police Department\u2019s Criminal Investigation Division or Central Dispatch at 575-546-0354.<\/p>\n

Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from residents and property owners in the area who may have surveillance-camera footage from around the time of the homicide. Anyone willing to assist by providing footage may contact investigators directly or submit information through Luna County Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n

People who wish to remain anonymous may call Luna County Crime Stoppers at 575-546-7800. Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.<\/p>\n

Anonymous tips may also be submitted by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering LUNATIP<\/strong> followed by the message, using the free TIPSOFT mobile app or visiting the TIPSOFT website.<\/p>\n

The Deming Police Department thanked the public for its cooperation as detectives continue the investigation.<\/p>\n
