DEMING – Drivers traveling through Albuquerque should be aware of additional automated speed enforcement as city officials announced four new speed cameras are now active across key corridors. The expansion brings the total number of camera locations in Albuquerque to 29 as part of an ongoing effort to reduce crashes and improve roadway safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a report on KOB-TV, the city installed cameras at several high-traffic areas, including northbound Broadway Boulevard SE between Iron Avenue and Coal Avenue, northbound Unser Boulevard NW near Old Ouray Road, southbound Juan Tabo Boulevard NE near Copper Avenue, and westbound Zuni Road between Mesilla and Espanola. The sites were selected using a combination of crash data, maps identifying high fatality and injury corridors, and feedback from local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since launching the automated speed enforcement program, Albuquerque officials say approximately 600,000 citations have been issued to drivers exceeding posted speed limits.
