Free Vaccination Clinics to Help Deming Students Prepare for New School Year

DEMING – As families begin preparing for the upcoming school year, local healthcare providers are launching a month-long vaccination campaign aimed at helping students meet school immunization requirements before classes begin.

Mimbres Valley Medical Group and Southwest Therapeutics will offer back-to-school vaccination clinics from June 22 through July 24. The clinics will operate Monday through Friday beginning at 7 a.m., providing students an opportunity to receive required immunizations ahead of the fall semester.

The effort will culminate with a Back-to-School Open House on July 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where students can receive school physicals and families can pick up free backpacks and school supplies while quantities last.

Organizers say the event is designed to make it easier for parents to complete several back-to-school requirements in one location while connecting families with healthcare and community resources.

Several organizations are expected to participate, including the El Paso Children’s Hospital Multispecialty Clinic mobile unit, Three Crosses Hospital Lab of Las Cruces, Peripheral Vascular Services of El Paso, Southwest Labs of Albuquerque, Cancer Support Services, and the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to health services, the event will feature music, refreshments, and information about services available through local healthcare providers.

Officials say additional announcements regarding future developments at the clinics may also be shared during the event.
