DEMING – The Great American Duck Race Board has unveiled the official theme and logo for the 47th Annual Great American Duck Race, celebrating the co
mmunity’s signature event set for August 20 through August 23, 2026.
This year’s theme, “Racing to the Great Outdoors,” highlights the natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities that surround Deming. Organizers say the theme celebrates the area’s mountain ranges, desert landscapes, colorful hot air balloons, and the famous New Mexico sunsets that make the region unique.
The official 2026 logo was created by local artist Jesse Kriegel. The artwork is designed to capture the spirit of outdoor adventure while serving as the visual centerpiece for this year’s festival. It will appear throughout Duck Race festivities and will also inspire judging for the Duck Royalty Pageant and the Tournament of Ducks Parade.
Now entering its 47th year, the Great American Duck Race has become one of Deming’s best-known annual traditions, attracting visitors from across New Mexico and neighboring states for four days of entertainment, food, community activities, and of course, the famous duck races.
Board members say planning is well underway for another memorable cel
ebration, with sponsorship and vendor applications now open. The complete schedule of events is expected to be released in the near future.
