DEMING — Deming Animal Guardians (DAGSHIP) has announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors.
Alexis Stetina and Hope Johnson, both longtime volunteers with the organization, have accepted leadership roles on the board.
Stetina assists with cleaning the organization’s cattery, socializing cats, and a variety of other volunteer duties. Johnson supports the office and works closely with Executive Director Beka, providing assistance with daily operations.
The organization said it is grateful for both volunteers’ commitment and willingness to take on expanded responsibilities to help strengthen Deming Animal Guardians.
DAGSHIP also recently received a $2,500 grant to support its Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for feral and community cats. The program, led by board member Beth, uses the funding to spay or neuter, vaccinate, and return cats to their outdoor colonies. The grant is expected to cover services for approximately 25 additional cats.
In addition, Executive Director Beka will host another pet adoption event on Saturday at Tractor Supply.
Deming Animal Guardians will also participate in the Stuff a Bus community event on July 25 at the Luna County Courthouse, where the organization will have an informational booth.
