DEMING – Xochiquetzelii Gutierrez is an eighth-grade student at Red Mountain Middle School and a second-year Wildcat cheerleader who is making her mark both in athletics and academics.
As a cheerleader, Xochiquetzelii says her favorite activity is serving as a base for her flyers. Away from cheerleading, mathematics is her favorite school subject.
Xochiquetzelii keeps a busy schedule at Red Mountain. She is a member of Student Council and the National Junior Honor Society, and she also plays Wildcat softball, combining her academic interests with involvement in school athletics.
This year, Xochiquetzelii is especially looking forward to competing in cheer competitions with her squad and representing the Deming Wildcats.
Looking toward the future, she hopes to become a collegiate softball player while continuing to serve her community and maintain good grades.
