Luna County ballots include federal and statewide contests, including U.S. Senate, U.S. House District 2 and New Mexico governor and lieutenant governor. House District 32, which includes Luna County, features Republican incumbent Jenifer Jones and Democrat Laura Parra. County races include sheriff, county commissioner districts 1 and 2, assessor, probate judge and magistrate judge. The sheriff’s race includes Republican Glenn Chadborn, independent Michael Brown and Democrat Jose Martinez, who is listed as a write-in candidate. District 1 commissioner candidates are Democrat Eddie Mesa, Republican David Lindberg and independent Mary Meade. Other county contests include probate judge and magistrate judge. The ballot also includes four proposed state constitutional amendments and three statewide bond questions. Because district contests depend on a voter’s address, residents should check their personalized ballot at NMVote.gov.
