Mary R. Ruiz, 86, a lifelong resident of Deming, NM went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at her residence.
Mary was born on September 7, 1940 to Faustino Rodriguez and Dolores Aguilera.
Our beloved Mary lived a life that reflected the love of Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of who she was. Through her words, her prayers, and the way she lived her life, she reminded us of the goodness of God and the importance of holding tightly to our faith.
She was a woman of loving kindness, whose gentle spirit and love for others left a lasting impression on those blessed enough to know her. Even as her body grew weak and the years brought challenges, her faith never wavered. Though her physical strength may have faded, her trust in the Lord remained steadfast. She showed us that true strength is not found in the body, but in a heart that continues to trust God through every season of life.
In her younger years, she poured her heart into the things she loved. She owned a Christian store, sharing her love for the Lord with others in a special way. She loved to cook and bring people together. She also had a gift for decorating her home and creating beautiful cakes, using her creativity to make ordinary moments feel special.
Her greatest legacy was not found in the things she created or the work she accomplished, but in the faith she lived out before her family and friends. She taught us, by example, what it means to love Jesus, to trust Him through difficult times, and to show kindness even when life is not easy.
We will remember her for her loving heart, her unwavering faith and gentle encouragement. The seeds of faith she planted in our hearts will continue to grow for generations to come.
She is survived by her son, William “Billy” Ruiz and his wife Denise of Deming, NM; two brothers, Andrew Rodriguez of Deming, NM and Manny Rodriguez (Lily) of Deming, NM; five grandchildren, Jaclynn Ruiz, Samantha Morales, Nathan Ruiz, Elishah Fitzgerald and Kristian Ruiz; thirteen great grandchildren, Alexis, Evelynn, Joslynn, Andres, Anjelica, Danae, Audreanna, Angelina, Analise, Aiden, Logan, Ezra and Ezme; and a great-great granddaughter on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel C. Ruiz; one son, Frank Edward Ruiz; five brothers, Faustino “Willie”, Manuel, Francisco, Joe “Che”, and Carlos Rodriguez; two sisters, Leonor Holguin and Elvira Sanchez; and a special niece, Susie Morales.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 10:30am at CitiLife Church with Pastor Cesar Chavez officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Arturo Valtierra, David Valtierra, Manuelito Rodriguez, Nathan Ruiz, Ernie Morales Jr. and Jerry Butler.
