DEMING – The Luna County DWI Planning Council is inviting the community to take part in a Coffee with a Cop event in honor of National Police Week.
The event will be held Wednesday, May 13, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Copper Kettle Coffee, 200 S. Gold Avenue in Deming.
The informal gathering will give residents, community partners and local law enforcement an opportunity to sit down together over coffee and have open conversations. Organizers said there is no set agenda for the event, just a chance to connect, ask questions, share perspectives and continue building positive relationships between officers and the community.
Edith Vazquez, Community Program Manager for the Luna County DWI/Misdemeanor Compliance Program, said the event is intended to strengthen trust and support positive partnerships across Luna County.
“National Police Week is a time to recognize and thank the dedicated men and women who serve and protect our communities every day,” Vazquez said.
The Coffee with a Cop event is being hosted by the Luna County DWI Planning Council and law enforcement. Community members are encouraged to attend and take part in the conversation.
