COLUMBUS \u2013 Residents and businesses in Columbus are being asked to reduce water consumption while one of the community\u2019s water storage tanks undergoes rehabilitation.<\/p>\n
According to a Village of Columbus news release, work has officially begun on the project, which is designed to improve the safety, reliability, and long-term efficiency of the village\u2019s water system. Officials estimate the rehabilitation process will take approximately 60 days to complete.<\/p>\n
During construction, the community\u2019s water storage capacity will be reduced, making water conservation important to maintaining adequate reserves and avoiding possible service interruptions.<\/p>\n
The village is asking residents to take shorter showers, repair water leaks promptly, avoid filling or refilling swimming pools, limit outdoor watering to only what is necessary for plants and trees, avoid washing vehicles unless absolutely necessary, and operate dishwashers only with full loads.<\/p>\n
Village officials thanked residents and businesses for their patience, cooperation, and understanding during the project and said the improvements will help provide a safer and more reliable water system for years to come.<\/p>\n
