DEMING – The Deming Police Department is asking for the public\u2019s assistance as investigators continue working to identify the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a media release issued by the department, the incident happened Friday, January 23, 2026, shortly after 7:00 p.m. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Railroad Boulevard just east of Gold Street. Police say the driver fled the scene following the collision without stopping to render aid or report the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency responders arrived and transported the victim to receive medical treatment. However, authorities say the injuries sustained in the crash ultimately resulted in the pedestrian\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deming police say the investigation into the fatal hit-and-run remains active and they are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle or driver involved to come forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective R. Parra with the Deming Police Department at 575-546-3011. Investigators say information from the public could help provide answers for the victim\u2019s family and assist law enforcement in holding those responsible accountable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
