LAS CRUCES \u2014 Do\u00f1a Ana County Assistant Utilities Director Mireya Rascon has been recognized as a 2026 Distinguished Alumna by Do\u00f1a Ana Community College during the college\u2019s Alumni and Community Block Party held April 10 at the East Mesa Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rascon began her career through DACC\u2019s Water Technology Program and has since built a distinguished career in public service. She currently plays a key role in supporting essential utilities and wastewater operations that serve residents throughout Do\u00f1a Ana County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
County officials say her recognition highlights the importance of local education and workforce development programs in preparing students for high-demand careers that directly benefit the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rascon also continues to support the next generation of workers entering the field. In January 2026, Do\u00f1a Ana County partnered with Do\u00f1a Ana Community College to launch a Water Technology Program internship that provides students with mentorship and hands-on experience in utilities and wastewater operations. Rascon oversees the program, helping guide students as they gain real-world experience and prepare for careers in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assistant County Manager Stephen Lopez praised Rascon\u2019s dedication to public service and her role in strengthening the county\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
