DEMING – Polls are open today across Luna County and throughout New Mexico as voters cast ballots in the 2026 Primary Election.<\/p>\n

Election Day voting runs until 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 2. Voters can find polling places, review registration information and view sample ballots through NMVote.org or by contacting the Luna County Clerk\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s primary includes federal, statewide, district and local races. Under New Mexico\u2019s semi-open primary system, voters registered with a major party may vote that party\u2019s ballot, while voters who are not affiliated with a major or minor party may choose a major party ballot for the primary without changing their voter registration.<\/p>\n

On the Democratic ballot for United States senator, voters will see Ben R. Lujan and Matt Dodson. For United States representative in Congressional District 2, Gabriel Vasquez is listed as the qualified Democratic candidate.<\/p>\n

On the Republican side for United States Senate, Larry E. Marker is listed by the Secretary of State as a qualified write-in candidate. In the Republican primary for United States representative in Congressional District 2, voters will see Gregory G. Cunningham and Jose Orozco.<\/p>\n

The governor\u2019s race includes Deb Haaland and Sam Bregman on the Democratic ballot. Republican voters will choose among Greggory D. Hull, Doug W. Turner and Duke Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

For lieutenant governor, Democratic voters will see Maggie Toulouse Oliver and Harold James Pope, Jr. Republican voters will see David M. Gallegos, Manuel \u201cManny\u201d Lardizabal and Aubrey Blair Dunn.<\/p>\n

The Democratic primary for secretary of state includes Katharine E. Clark and Amanda L\u00f3pez Askin. Ramona L. Goolsby is listed as the Republican candidate for secretary of state.<\/p>\n

For attorney general, Democratic voters will see Raul Torrez, while Republican voters will see Samuel Isaiah Kane, Sr. For state auditor, Joseph M. Maestas is listed on the Democratic ballot, and Joshua James Ryan Lawrence is listed as a qualified Republican write-in candidate. For state treasurer, Laura M. Montoya is listed for Democrats, and James F. Ellison is listed as a qualified Republican write-in candidate.<\/p>\n

The Democratic primary for commissioner of public lands includes Juan De Jesus Sanchez, III, Matthew McQueen and Jonas Moya. Michael Jack Perry is listed on the Republican ballot.<\/p>\n

For New Mexico Court of Appeals Position 1, Kris Houghton is listed as a Democratic candidate. In Public Education Commission District 7, Frederick Walton Parker is listed as the Democratic candidate, while John Foreman is listed as the Republican candidate.<\/p>\n

In the race for State Representative District 32, Luna County Democratic voters will see Laura Mairel Parra. Republican voters will see Jenifer Marie Jones.<\/p>\n

Several Luna County races also appear on primary ballots, depending on party and district.<\/p>\n

For Luna County Magistrate Judge, J. Scott Chandler is listed as the Republican candidate.<\/p>\n

For Luna County Commission District 1, Democratic voters will choose between Eddie M. Mesa and Raymond John Trejo. Republican voters in District 1 will choose among David William Lindberg, Rex W. Gardner and Michael Casillas.<\/p>\n

For Luna County Commission District 2, Thomas John Wakely is listed as the Democratic candidate, and Colette M. Chandler is listed as the Republican candidate.<\/p>\n

The Luna County sheriff\u2019s race appears on the Republican ballot, with Mike Eby and Glenn R. Chadborn listed as candidates.<\/p>\n

For Luna County assessor, Democratic voters will choose between Javier J. Reyes and Jessica Leigh Vinson-Moreno.<\/p>\n

For Luna County probate judge, Pilar Pacheco Salcido is listed on the Democratic ballot. Republican voters will choose between Clifford T. Denshire and Roy Scott Chandler.<\/p>\n

Voters needing information about polling locations, sample ballots or other election questions may contact the Luna County Clerk\u2019s Office at 575-546-0491. The New Mexico Secretary of State\u2019s Election Day voter hotline is also available today at 1-800-477-3632.<\/p>\n

Unofficial election results are expected to become available after polls close at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
