Rodolfo Francisco “Fito” Salas, 40, a resident of Deming, NM went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Fito was born on November 9, 1985 in Glendale, CA to Juan Francisco Salas Gonzalez and Maria Rogel.
Fito cherished moments spent barbecuing with his family, even if he simply handed off the cooking tongs to someone else. He enjoyed playing his music at all hours, and his lively personality was impossible to miss. Whether cheering on his favorite teams—the Broncos, LA Dodgers, or Celtics—he supported them with such enthusiasm that he often lost his voice. His laugh was unmistakable, carrying across any distance. Fito’s intelligence made him a helpful presence, always ready to assist with anything. He had a strong aura that naturally drew people to him and sparked curiosity, even though he wasn’t always outgoing. Above all, Fito was deeply devoted to his family and would do anything for them; as his sister said, his family was his pride and joy. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by both of his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Rivas-Hindman; his loving daughter, Violet Aleda Salas; two brothers, Maclovio and Antonio Salas; and one sister, Angela Salas.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Francisco and Juan Manuel Salas.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. Funeral mass will then begin at 11:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Prakasham Babu officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his brothers.
