DEMING – Registration is now open for the Columbus Electric Co-Op Tournament of Ducks Parade, part of the 47th Annual Great American Duck Race in Deming.
Participants may enter floats, cars, trucks, bicycles, ATVs and other parade entries. Entries are encouraged to reflect this year’s theme, “Racing to the Great Outdoors.”
Parade prizes have increased this year. First place will receive $200, second place $150 and third place $100.
Registration is available through the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce.
The 47th Annual Great American Duck Race begins Thursday, Aug. 20, with the Bravo Mic Duck Royalty Pageant at the Deming High School Auditorium. Events continue through Sunday, Aug. 23, with final duck races scheduled for about 3 p.m. at Luna County Courthouse Park.
