Luna County Voters Join Early Absentee Ballot Push

DEMING – Voters in Luna County are already requesting absentee ballots ahead of the 2026 election cycle.

According to absentee ballot request data dated May 23, Luna County had 526 total absentee ballot requests.

The county total includes 323 requests from registered Democrats, 128 from registered Republicans, and 75 from voters registered as decline-to-state. The report listed no absentee ballot requests from Luna County voters registered with other parties.

Luna County includes Deming, Columbus and other communities throughout the county.

Statewide, the report showed 69,069 absentee ballot requests across New Mexico. Of those, 46,171 were from registered Democrats, 15,818 from registered Republicans, 6,491 from decline-to-state voters, and 589 from voters registered with other parties.

Voters are encouraged to check with the Luna County Clerk’s Office or the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office for official election deadlines, absentee ballot information and voting locations.
