DEMING – The City of Deming has announced plans to begin construction of new pickleball courts at E.J. Hooten Park, with work scheduled to start April 22, 2026, and continue for approximately two months.
City officials say the project is designed to expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles within the community. During the construction period, portions of the park may be temporarily closed or have limited access to ensure the safety of both the public and construction crews.
Residents and park visitors are being asked to observe all posted signage, avoid restricted areas, and use caution when traveling near the construction zone. Officials also remind parents and guardians to closely supervise children while visiting the park and to follow any posted detours or safety instructions.
City leaders expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation as improvements move forward, noting that the new pickleball courts are expected to provide a welcoming space for people of all ages to gather, exercise, and connect with others.
For updates or more information about the project, residents may contact the City of Deming Community Development Department at (575) 546-8848.
