DEMING – The American Red Cross is inviting the community to help save lives during the upcoming American Red Cross “The Donors” (“Los Donantes”) Blood Drive on Monday, July 27, at the Luna County Community Mimbres Valley Learning Center.
The American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Mimbres Valley Learning Center, located at 2300 E. Pine St.
The event is co-hosted by the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce and Luna County, with the Mimbres Valley Learning Center providing the facility for the drive.
The American Red Cross “The Donors” (“Los Donantes”) campaign celebrates the diversity of the community while encouraging everyone to donate blood and help meet the ongoing need for lifesaving blood products.
Last year’s American Red Cross blood drive in Deming set a local collection record with 35 units of blood donated. Organizers hope to surpass that total this year as the American Red Cross prepares to launch a national appeal for blood donors because of a nationwide blood shortage.
Everyone who donates at the July 27 American Red Cross blood drive will receive an exclusive “Los Donantes” American Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.
Appointments are encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment by scanning the QR code on the event flyer, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visiting RedCrossBlood.org and using sponsor code LUNADEMING.
