DEMING – The Deming Police Officer Association recognized members of the Deming Police Department for exceptional dedication, professionalism and service to the community during an awards event held Saturday, July 25, at the Trees Lake Pavilion.
The City of Deming announced the honorees Friday, recognizing officers and staff whose work helps protect the community, uphold public safety and provide professional service to Deming residents.
This year’s recipients were:
- Police Officer of the Year: Jose “Danny” Calderon
- Detective of the Year: Rafael Parra
- Supervisor of the Year: Job Calderon
- Peer Recognition Award: Alondra Rangel
- Captain’s Choice: Victor Solano
- Chief’s Choice: Sergio Quezada
- Code Enforcement Officer of the Year: Vincent Rodriguez
- Rookie of the Year: Jassima Alzawady
- Community Policing Award: Cesar Moreno
- Outstanding Detective Work: Rafael Parra
- Special Unit Excellence: Jose “Danny” Calderon
- Most Arrests: Brian Garcia
City officials thanked the Deming Police Officer Association for recognizing the commitment and hard work of the department’s officers and staff, saying their service contributes to a safer and stronger community.
