DEMING – A familiar Deming landmark is looking a little brighter following some much-needed attention and a fresh coat of paint.
The train displayed at the Deming Visitor Center, which also houses the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce and Deming Luna County MainStreet offices, has been repainted as part of an effort to care for the community landmark.
Deming Luna County MainStreet announced the completed project, saying the train received some much-needed TLC and is now refreshed and ready for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The organization is encouraging people to stop by the Visitor Center, take a look at the newly painted train and snap a few photographs of the landmark’s fresh appearance.
MainStreet thanked the City of Deming for helping make the project possible and for its work in caring for what has become a recognizable piece of the community.
The train is prominently displayed outside the Deming Visitor Center and serves as a reminder of the railroad’s important place in Deming’s history.
