DEMING — Deming Intermediate School is inviting local businesses and organizations to take part in an upcoming Career Exploration Fair designed to introduce students to a wide range of career opportunities in the community.
The event will be held Friday, May 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Deming Intermediate School, located at 1750 Pear Street SW. The fair will give students the opportunity to interact with professionals, ask questions about different careers and learn about the education and skills needed to succeed in the workforce.
School officials and event organizers are encouraging local businesses, public agencies and community organizations to participate by setting up informational booths, bringing equipment or demonstrations and sharing real-world experiences with students. Organizers say participation helps students better understand career options available in the region while also allowing businesses to connect with future members of the workforce.
Employers interested in participating can register online at EmployNM.com. Registration is free, but space is limited. The deadline to register is Friday, April 24, at 5 p.m.
The Career Exploration Fair is being coordinated in partnership with workforce and economic development organizations, including America’s Job Center and Deming Luna County Economic Development. Organizers say the event is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen connections between local schools and the business community.
For more information about participating in the Career Exploration Fair, businesses can visit the registration website listed on the event flyer or contact event organizers through the school.
