Deming Police Explorer Program Class of 2026 to Graduate June 25

DEMING – The Deming Police Department will celebrate the graduation of its 2026 Explorer Program class during a ceremony scheduled for Thursday, June 25, at the Pit Park Amphitheater.
The graduation ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the amphitheater, located at 300 N. Country Club Road in Deming.
The Explorer Program gives local young people an opportunity to learn about careers in law enforcement while developing leadership, teamwork, communication skills and self-confidence through hands-on activities and training.
Officer Junior Quesada, who works with the program, said watching the students grow throughout the year has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
“The Explorer Program gives young people an opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence and develop skills that will stay with them long after the program ends,” Quesada said.
“Watching them grow, step outside their comfort zones, and finish stronger than when they started has been one of the most rewarding parts of this year.”
Quesada said many members of this year’s class returned after participating in previous years, a sign that the program continues to make a lasting impact on local youth.
“This year’s Explorer class has been especially rewarding because the majority of our explorers returned from last year, and we even have a few who are now in their third year with the program,” Quesada said.
“That says a lot about the impact the program has had on them.”
Banners recognizing members of the 2026 Explorer Class have been displayed at the front of the Deming Police Department ahead of the graduation ceremony. The banners highlight the students who completed the program and their commitment to serving the community.
The public is invited to attend the Explorer Program graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pit Park Amphitheater. Community members are also encouraged to stop by the Deming Police Department to view the banners and help recognize the accomplishments of this year’s Explorer Class.
