DEMING – DAGSHIP Rescue says it has taken in 11 Chihuahuas from a hoarding situation after the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley received 37 dogs.
The Deming rescue accepted six females and five males, ranging in age from 1 to 3 years old. DAGSHIP said the transfer was arranged quickly after it received word that the dogs needed placement that day. Malik and Taj transported the dogs to Deming.
The rescue also reported that two longtime dogs, Brownie and Tulsi, are scheduled to be transported to Phoenix on Friday. Two or three additional longtime dogs are expected to travel to Albuquerque in August for the Fetch program.
DAGSHIP volunteers recently adopted out four kittens and one puppy during an adoption event. At its facility, the rescue said it also adopted out two kittens and two puppies during the past week.
The organization added that it took in eight cats last Friday, ranging from 4 months to 3 years old. All but two had already been spayed or neutered.
