DEMING – Hundreds of local students are heading back to school with additional supplies and community support following the success of Stuff the Bus Deming 2026, an annual community event organized by Bravo Mic Communications and sponsored by Nusenda Credit Union.

Residents, businesses and community organizations came together to donate crayons, pencils, notebooks, backpacks and other school supplies for students attending Deming Public Schools.

The event also featured a variety of free activities for children and families. The SnapJoy Photo Booth, presented by Nusenda Credit Union, offered families an opportunity to capture memories from the event, while Southwest Therapeutics and Southwest Pediatric & Family Care provided building activities.

Bravo Mic Digital offered STEM activities, KDEM and KOTS hosted a Coloring Corner, Luna County provided Speed Stacking activities and Tacom Printing hosted Fishing for Duckies.

Local barbers and hairstylists also volunteered their time to provide free haircuts for students preparing to return to the classroom.

The City of Deming distributed free backpacks to local students while supplies lasted.

Food vendors Deming Tropical Snow and Nothing Bundt Cakes were also on hand during the event.

Stuff the Bus received support from numerous community sponsors and partners, including Nusenda Credit Union, the City of Deming, Luna County, Southwest Pediatric & Family Care, Southwest Therapeutics, SnapJoy Photo Booth, Blast City Party Central, Blue Bell Creamery, Tacom Printing and Bravo Mic Digital.

Organizers also credited local hairstylists and barbers, volunteers, vendors and residents who donated school supplies for helping make the event successful.

Bravo Mic Communications officials said donations of all sizes contributed to the effort, from residents bringing individual notebooks and other supplies to larger donations from businesses and organizations.

Stuff the Bus is designed to bring the community together to help ensure Deming students have the supplies they need as they begin the new school year.

Organizers thanked the Deming community for supporting the 2026 event and said they look forward to continuing the Stuff the Bus tradition next year.
