DEMING – The ducks have raced, the water has splashed and two competitors have emerged as champions of the 47th Annual Great American Duck Race.
Emery Bencomo captured the Dry Track championship, while Anthony Almanza took the top spot on the Wet Track during this year’s races in Deming.
Each champion received a $1,500 grand prize, along with some well-earned duck-racing bragging rights.
The championship races capped another year of one of Deming’s best-known traditions, bringing competitors and spectators together for the annual event.
Organizers with the Great American Duck Race Committee congratulated Bencomo and Almanza and thanked everyone who participated in this year’s races.
The 47th Annual Great American Duck Race was held as part of the weekend’s festivities in Deming.
